This weekend: Skyride, Leicester Bike Film Festival, and help needed!

It’s a big weekend for cycling in Leicester, with thousands of people expected to take part in the Skyride on Sunday 29th August, and the Ride Leicester Bike Film Festival taking place over the bank holiday weekend.

Transition Leicester will be involved – see us at our stall during the Skyride at Abbey Pumping Station and hear from us at a panel discussion on Saturday 28th August at the Phoenix at 5pm, as part of the film festival.

For details of this weekend’s events, see – www.bikefilmfestival.org & www.citizenseye.org/category/skyride-leicester & www.goskyride.com/location/leicester

Also there’s a need for volunteer help! 40 Volunteer Community Reporters will run a Festival Social Media Hub throughout the event to generate, record and share news stories that promote cycling & people-friendly cities across Leicester, the UK & internationally. Newsfeed will be available from Midday Thursday (26th) to Late Sunday Evening (19th August). The aim is to link community media reporters promoting cycling and people-friendly cities here with community change projects across the planet. If interested or you can help – email John Coster – editor@citizenseye.org or andy.salkeld@leicester.gov.uk
