WINFA has been working with Fairtrade since the 1990s when groups of Fairtrade farmers were set up on each island. Together they began shipping Fairtrade bananas to the UK in 2000. There are now approximately 48 Fairtrade Groups with about 3,347 members.

They match the skills of volunteers to the needs of local communities to tackle poverty in Africa and the Caribbean.
