If you’re interested in a weekly supply of fresh, locally produced, seasonal vegetables but don’t have the time or means to go and collect them from the farm every Saturday or Sunday you may like to know that you can now collect them from the Ecohouse on Hinckley Road, Leicester.
Community Harvest Whetstone (CHW) – a project initiated by Transition Leicester in 2009 – is a Community Supported Agriculture cooperative growing vegetables at Whetstone Pastures Farm, near Blaby, 6 miles south of Leicester.
The vegetables are distributed among subscribing members, or crop-sharers, who come weekly to the farm to collect their small or large share of vegetables.
Until now only those who were prepared to travel weekly to Whetstone could become members. But from this month the Leicester Ecohouse has been made available by Groundwork Leicester and Leicestershire as a drop off and collection point for our vegetables.
If you’re interested please contact CHW treasurer Keith Campbell on 0116/2571897 (leave a message) or on 07860 388525 or visit our website. Forms to become members, crop-sharers or even investors are also available there.
