Monthly Green Light cafes are no more

Transition Leicester’s Green Light cafe team have decided to stop holding monthly cafe events for the foreseeable future.

The event has been going for more than 18 months (first as a Transition Cafe, then Green Grub cafe and finally Green Light cafe) and was based at the Bishop St Methodist church. It combined home made seasonal food with short talks, craft activities, a mini-library, a swap shop and a chance for informal networking and discussion.

We’re seeing the decision as a change of focus, giving the cafe crew more time to put energy into promoting local food at events several times a year in co-operation with the Green Light festival team.

Big thanks and congratulations to everyone who put time and energy into making the cafes happen over the past few years!

  1. Thats a shame. Hope the morsbags went well. We had a big fabric donation at Green and Pleasant following the last cafe. Thanks for that and hope our paths will cross again soon. Rosiex. morsbags

  2. Really sad they have finished, the food was brillaint and the only place in town that I wanted to eat on a Saturday, didnt go into town for any other reason! I hope you will do some food events though in the future. 😦
