The Communities Cutting Carbon Conference is an opportunity for anyone with an interest in community action on low-carbon living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to come together to learn, share and meet like-minded people.
It will take place on the evening of February 2nd 2012, at De Montfort University (timings TBC). The event will showcase and celebrate the achievements of the project and the communities supported over the past two years and will feature:
- Short talks on successful local projects
- A case study exhibition, featuring over 25 exemplar projects from the region, including community allotments, renewable energy schemes and more
- Great food and refreshments
They include Transition Leicester’s Permaculture course, a solar panel installation at a Sikh temple in Leicester, Evington Community Orchards and many more.
Each case study provides invaluable information and inspiration for anyone interested in similar projects, including how the project was initiated and funded and its achievements, successes and challenges.
The full set of close to 30 local case studies can be downloaded for free from the Communities Cutting Carbon website: www.ruralcc.org.uk/ccc-case-studies.
